I picked up the PDP-11/35 chassis parts from the powder coat shop this afternoon, and they are spectacularly well done. Total cost was $100.00, which I consider money well spent.
I’m thrilled at how everything came out. There was some really deep pitting from rust, and of course some of the pitting is still there after the metal was sandblasted and powder coated, but at least now everything is protected from corrosion again. With proper care this chassis should last a very, very long time.
Now that I have everything back I will start piecing it back together. I want to get it all assembled this weekend, so I can start debugging logic by early next week.
Onward and upward!
